St Clotilde's School was founded by the French Order of St Clotilde, and in 1939 moved to its present site in Lechlade with a Manor House set in 52 acres of parkland. It is now an inter-denominational day, weekly and termly boarding school, run entirely by lay staff.
In September 1996 the newly formed Junior School was opened. This takes day children from 3-11 years, and the Senior School caters for day and boarding girls from 11-18 years.
In the tranquil surroundings and caring, family atmosphere of St Clotilde's, pupils are encouraged to achieve high standards in Music, Art, Drama and Sport, as well as academic subjects.
Given small classes, highly qualified staff and, if necessary, expert dyslexic help, your son and daughter can build on his or her strengths and grow in self-confidence. A Christian ethos permeates all aspects of the school to produce a caring community.
Our 1997 GCSE results showed a 100% pass rate at A*-C grades. Extra-curricular activities include clubs for music, drama, sport, the creative arts and Duke of Edinburgh Award. Many of our pupils compete in equestrian competitions at the highest levels.
The typical St Clotildean, with her academic achievements, Christian background, poise and self-motivation, has qualities many employers value highly.
